Cora - Modern 1920's Girl 

Cora is a thoroughly modern girl of the twenties!

She loves making her own clothes. Here she is modelling her newest outfit showing the latest dropped waist style. She is very proud of her hat bought as a plain brown felt hat. Cora trimmed it with a length velvet ribbon and strings of beads. It now looks like the latest Paris fashion!

Martha - Mother of the Civil War

Martha is a young woman of the Civil War era. With her full hoop skirt and sweet little bonnet Martha is off to help the war effort by rolling bandages.

When they run out of bandages for the wounded they always start ripping up petticoats. Martha has come prepared. Her petticoat could bandage a whole army!

This is Daphne©, a country lady and a very keen gardener. Her coat has a shawl collar and large flower trimmed with lots of old buttons. She is created from a combination of country fabrics and traditional felts. Other features include her bag and red hat. In her bag there is plenty of room for those bulb catalogues I know she loved to order from.

Olive Edith

Olive Edith loves weddings. She has been to all her childrens - and a few of her own. Here she is all dolled up again. It’s obviously not her first wedding. Maybe it's her second; or even her third? Olive Edith is based on my Grandmother(named Olive Edith)who turned 100 in December 2006 - and still manages to get around like a 60 year old!

This is Madge, dressed in a full gored skirt held by a heavy ruffled petticoat in typical 50’s style. She’s looking her best even for the housework. The girls are coming for tea and cards, so she slipped on a pinney to do a quick tidy up.
